Sunday, March 18, Bulletin
Guest Speaker: Dan Langdon, Open Door Church of Christ
Today we are blessed to have a great follower of Christ and preacher, Dan Langdon, from Open Door Church of Christ in Broken Arrow preaching at Garnett. Dan and Greg are “swapping pulpits” as part of a promotion of the Tulsa Workshop that’s coming March 21-24, so Greg will be at Open Door that Sunday. Dan and Greg also coach soccer together — the team Dan’s son, Liam, and Greg’s son, Jacob, and Josh Haltom play on. The name of their team is MIB. Guess what movie the name comes from.
Justice and Power Under People
Sunday we spoke about God’s plumb line of justice and His desire of breaking into the world to make a corrupt creation good again. Kyler Erwin and Jonny Williams hung David Erwin’s plumb line on the cross, showing us that God not only created the standard of righteousness but sent His Son to die to make us plumb again. When I mentioned we’d do more on justice this Sunday, I wasn’t plumb with the calendar. Today, as mentioned above, we’re happy to have Dan Langdon preaching. We’ll pick up with the theme of justice “putting power under people” Sunday, March 25.
The activities we’re calling on Garnett members to choose from and participate in during the workshop are these:
Sunday, March 18, 10 am - Dan Langdon, preacher with Open Door Church of Christ will be our guest speaker
Wednesday night, March 21, 6:30 pm - Kyler Erwin and our praise team will lead worship at the workshop evening session at the Fairgrounds Pavilion
Saturday, March 24, 2 pm at the Tulsa Workshop - Garnett staff and guests are leading a panel discussion on “Power Under People” and the panel will feature Dry Bones Denver, Water4, Kibo Group, and GPS Tulsa
Saturday, March 24, 6:30 pm - Garnett is hosting the First Annual Converge Dinner to benefit Dry Bones Denver, Water4, Kibo Group, and GPS Tulsa. Roy Victory and Poached Pear Catering is doing the meal. Please sign up now through a link at
www.garnettchurch.org and support this great cause with the theme, “Power Under People.”
Sunday, March 25, 10 am - We will be joined by guests from Uganda and Jo Morton will be preaching about how Garnett is putting power under people as we participate with the four groups from the Converge Dinner
Would you like to volunteer to help at the workshop at our Garnett “Converge” booth? Would you be available Saturday to help with set up of the Converge Dinner? Please write
garnettinfo@garnettchurch.org to sign up to serve in these ways.

Transforming Glory
Key Text: Luke 9:28-36
Memory Verse: Luke 9:35
- What is important about the Transfiguration of Christ?
- Read Luke 9:28-36
- What was Jesus doing when the Transfiguration begins on the mountain?
- What does Jesus seem to want the disciples to see and learn here?
- Use art of some kind to describe the scene in Luke 9:28-36.
- In your small group, you may want to read additional texts about transformation and glory: Exodus 24:9-18, 34:29-35; 1 Kings 19:11-12
- In 2 Peter 1:16:21 Peter describes seeing the glory of Christ — the Transfiguration?
- 2 Corinthians 3:12-4:6 Paul describes transformation of our lives by the power of the Holy Spirit . . .
- Pray: Ask the Lord what kind of transformation He wants to bring in your life.

Parents: As you may have heard, our hopes for a Dry Bones trip this year are dwindling. We are sensitive to the fact that summer schedule is important for planning purposes, so we will inform you asap as we determine the plans for a summer mission trip.
Thank you.
