African Children’s Choir Tonight!

Today is the big African Children’s Choir. Check with friends and family one more time to see if they can attend with you. The concert is free, but come with a love offering to give by check, cash, or credit card.

We’re hosting ACC because they are part of the worldwide Body of Christ. This gives us the opportunity to learn from one another, to enjoy each other, and to support one another in some meaningful way. The love offering will go to help thousands of students in Africa in addition to the choir children.

Come early and help set up, greet our guests, direct people in the parking lot, keep rest rooms clean, help at ACC tables, usher, and many other jobs we’ll all join in to host this incredible event for a packed house at Garnett Church of Christ.

Sunday, January 23, we are having an all-church potluck after services with the African Children’s Choir in Phillips Hall. You can bring your dish to Phillips Hall between 9 and 10 am. Please bring a serving spoon for your dish.

We will need help setting up, cleaning up, trash duty, and breaking down tables after lunch. Any help is appreciated. Make sure your friends are on the list!

Reminders about African Children’s Choir Concert

* Why are we hosting ACC? To love and be loved by others in God’s incredible world while enjoying cultural entertainment and giving a love offering that helps children in Africa. * Concert Time: Saturday, 6 pm Garnett Church of Christ/Green Country Event Center * Bring your love offering in form of check, cash, credit card * Come at 4 pm to help clean up meal for kids, set up for concert, help in parking lot, welcome people at the door, serve in many other ways — we’ll keep you busy! * Host families will have orientation meeting at 5 pm Friday in Cafe Mosaic, dinner will be served to children, sponsors, and host families, and families will take children and sponsors to homes. * Stay after the concert and help clean up the facility for worship the next day!

Greg’s “Grandma D”

Greg Taylor’s “Grandma D” died peacefully Thursday in her home in Bartlesville surrounded by all six of her children. The funeral is Monday 10 am at Dewey Church of Christ. No flowers but any donations in memorial can go to Garnett Church of Christ and will be passed on to missions she loved like The Kibo Group, Hope Harbor, and World Bible School. Make sure your friends are on the list!

Please pray for Vivian DaVee as she was taken to St. John’s Hospital during the night. She was hemorrhaging and is in emergency room now. Her blood pressure is low and doctors are goi ng to try to put a tube down her throat around 3:00 today. Please pray for Vivian, Jerry and the doctors as they try to get her bleeding under control.
