Day Camp Registrations!

Don’t forget to sign up your Garnett Kids for our first Day Camp 4 Kids, June 6-10! The camp is for kids in 1st-5th grade, and cost is $65 with a $15 discount if paid by May 22. There is also a $5 Family discount per child. Registration forms are available in Café Mosaic & in the Church office.

Kids’ Easter Program

Bring a friend for our special Easter program on Sunday, April 24. We’ll hear the story of Jesus’ resurrection, do crafts and have a snack. After services, there will be an Easter Egg Hunt on the front lawn!

Easter Celebration

We are planning a special Easter program for Garnett Kids on Sunday, April 24, from 9 am until approximately 10:15 am when the children will be brought to the Auditorium to sit with their parents.  After services, there will be an Easter Egg Hunt on the front lawn.

Day Camp Needs

Greg Taylor is making preparations for Kids Day Camp and right now needs the following items that will help kids have a blast this summer.

1. 4 new telephone poles of 45 feet each
2. “Clean” or new trolling boat motor
3. New 50 gallon trash can and lid

What could these items possibly be used for? Solve the mystery — or better yet, help get the items with donations or tracking down good deals or friends to get er done. All items would stay at church for multiple use, and Greg will soon reveal what fun things we’re going to do with these items.

To purchase all 6 of the above items outright would cost $2,500.

Kids can run for Kids!

Hey Garnett Kids! Sign up for the 5K4KDZ 1 Mile Fun Run on April 2. Entry fee is only $10! The run will be a lot of fun and will help kids and families from our community participate in the exciting week of Summer Day Camp at Garnett.

Class/Age Changes

There have been a few minor class/age adjustments for Garnett Kids:
Nursery – Birth/Toddlers, Room 306
Early Childhood – Ages 3, 4, 5 and Kindergarten, Room 301
Primary Department – 1st, 2nd and 3rd Grade, Room 304
Upper Elementary – 4th and 5th Grade, Room 307
If you have any ideas for events for the Garnett Kids, we would like your input.  The goal is to plan monthly or bimonthly events for them.  Please contact Betty Haynie (639-1313) or Janet Collins (663-3000) with any ideas.

Birthday Party for Jesus

On Saturday, December 11, from 1-5 pm, we’ll be having a Birthday Party for Jesus for Garnett Kids PK through 5th Grade.  There will be games, crafts, birthday cake, stories, songs, and a Christmas video.  In addition to the kids having a great time, this will also give parents a chance to do some Christmas shopping.
We are asking all the kids to bring one of their own toys as a gift for the baby Jesus.  Please do not buy a new one.  These gifts will be kept in the Children’s Hall for our children’s use.  We will be serving birthday cake and ice cream, but they should have lunch before they come.  PLEASE RSVP to garnettinfo@gmail.com or call the church office at 663-3000 by Wednesday, December 8, so we will have enough for everyone.
If anyone would like to volunteer to help, we would be very appreciative!  We could use at least two more adults and some students to help.  If you can only volunteer for a couple of hours, that would be helpful.  Please reply to this email, call Janet in the office at 663-3000, or call Betty Haynie at 639-1313 or talk with her on Sunday morning.

Kids’ Christmas Chorus

For almost 30 years the Garnett Kids have presented the Christmas Chorus!
This year’s presentation is titled, The Christmas Puzzle.  The setting is Grandma’s living room.  Four cousins are snowed in and the power is out.  They are not happy campers.  All they can find is an old puzzle to put together. It’s a very special puzzle however, complete with music and laughter.
Come join the family as they discover God’s “Picture Perfect Plan!”
The presentation will be Sunday, December 19th at 10:00 am in the worship center.

Fall Festival

The Garnett Fall Festival will be held Wednesday, October 27, from 6-8 pm.  We’ll have safe and fun trick-or-treating, costumes, games, candy and fun.

To make this happen we need volunteers to decorate a door and hand out candy, help with games, help set up that afternoon, and help clean up afterwards.  We are also asking for donations of candy to give to all of the trick-or-treaters.  Candy donations can be left at  Cafe Mosaic.
