Ladies’ Book Study
The Sunday morning ladies’ class will be studying “Made to Crave” by Lysa Terkeurst. You can find more information at madetocrave.org. This will be a relaxed read and discuss study for the summer. All ladies are invited to join us. We will begin Sunday, June 26, however, join us this Sunday for fellowship and planning. If you are interested in “Made to Crave,” here is information on getting a copy of the book:

Mardel at 71st has 3 copies for $7.50 ea., and Lifeway has 14 copies for $7.49 ea.

Fearless Families
Today begins a 10-week preaching series called, “Fearless Families: 10 Habits of Christian parents, Grandparents, and Children.” Greg Taylor will be preaching about how God can inhabit, shape, and use families of all kinds for His glory.

Donuts for Dads
On Father’s Day we will have Donuts for Dads in Cafe Mosaic. Come and enjoy donuts before 9 am class and dads can take their little ones to class. We have classes for all ages, including children infant to high school and Bible classes for adults. If donuts survive till after worship, stick around a little while and hang out with dads in the cafe after worship time.

Day at Woolaroc
Modern Woodmen of America, an organization Ethelene Davis is associated with, is giving Ethelene $100 to use for an activity for our church. Ethelene has chosen to sponsor a day at Woolaroc in Bartlesville on Tuesday, June 21. Children 11 and younger are free, and adults are $6 (normal cost is $8 per adult, but we have $2 coupons). The $100 will be put towards entry fees for all adults which will make the $6 charge even less. Everyone is invited to attend. More information will be made available as it gets closer to the event.

Wednesday Bible Classes Resume this Week, June 15
John Dickmann and others will facilitate a Wednesday Bible class beginning this week, June 15, in Phillips Hall starting with a topographical study of the book of James. Children’s classes will also be held at 7 pm in Hall 3.

Ladies’ Book Club
The Ladies’ Book Club monthly meeting will be held tonight, Tuesday, June 14, at 6:30 pm in the Living Room and Youth Coffee Bar area in Hallway 1. For more information including the book we are reading this month, please contact Rebecca LeDoux or Kendra Hellman. Come join us!

Father’s Day Swimming Party
Kids bring your dads and the rest of the family to swim! Families with kids of all ages–infant swimmers to college age–are invited to a swim party Sunday evening June 19, 6-9 pm at the neighborhood pool close by Greg and Jill Taylor’s house. You can park in the parking lot of the pool or on the street where the Taylors live in Broken Arrow. No cost for the pool but you can bring snacks and drinks to share.

Fish Fry & Work Day

Work Day, June 4
In preparation for Garnett’s Kids’ Day Camp, we are having a workday on Saturday, June 4, with a focus on assembling some new picnic tables for our picnic/park/Zip Line area out back. If you can join us for a few hours on Saturday morning and haven’t already signed up, join us from 8:30 am until noon.

2nd Annual Fish Fry
Our 2nd Annual Fish Fry is this Sunday, June 5! Bring a change of clothes or come in casual dress and stay for summer fun and fellowship. Invite your friends. Bring easy ups, lawn chairs, Frisbees, anything you would bring to a picnic, and set up in “The Grove.”

Fish will be provided, but we are also going to have hamburgers and hot dogs. Please bring side dishes, hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, condiments, dessert, etc. The church will provide plates, cups, plastic cutlery, and napkins.

We’ll also have a drawing for 20 people of all ages to be the first to try out our new Zip Line. Even if you don’t want to ride, you won’t want to miss seeing this!

Come and enjoy fellowship and great food in “The Grove” Sunday immediately after services.

Day at Woolaroc
Modern Woodmen of America, an organization Ethelene Davis is associated with, is giving Ethelene $100 to use for an activity for our church. Ethelene has chosen to sponsor a day at Woolaroc in Bartlesville on Tuesday, June 21. Children 11 and younger are free, and adults are $6 (normal cost is $8 per adult, but we have $2 coupons). The $100 will be put towards entry fees for all adults which will make the $6 charge even less. Everyone is invited to attend. More information will be made available as it gets closer to the event.

Summer Mission Trip
Final installments for the Know Sweat Denver summer mission trip are now due. We also have a few spots available if your student is interested in this trip. Contact Lance Newsom for more information or for balance inquiries.

2nd Annual Fish Fry
Our 2nd Annual Fish Fry is today immediately following worship. We encourage guests and members to join us for food and fellowship and fun.

Zip Line
Our Zip Line is up and ready and we have a team trained to safely run the zip. At the Fish Fry today we will have a drawing for 20 volunteers to be the first to use the Zip Line.

Day Camp 4 Kids
Day Camp is here! Monday through Friday, June 6 to June 10, from 8:30am-4:30pm. If you’re interested in coming up to help, please contact Beth West at bethmariewest@gmail.com. A big goal for Day Camp is to make friends with neighborhood families and invite them into a relationship with Christ and friendship with us.

The Gathering: Meet the Parents
This week is all about Kids Day Camp. For The Gathering this month we will be having an Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, June 8, from 4:30 pm until 6 pm in “The Grove.” We are inviting parents of our campers to stay and join us for The Gathering. Come and join us and get to know our campers and their parents—one of the big goals of the camp.

Anyone that would like to bring ice cream for our Ice Cream Social can sign up at the Coffee Bar. If you would like to bring ice cream but can’t make it by 4:30 pm, drop it off earlier and we’ll keep it in the freezer!

Secret Sisters Dinner
The Secret Sisters Dinner will be held at Mimi’s, 71st & Memorial, Thursday, June 2, at 6:30 pm. Even if you are not a currently a Secret Sister, we encourage you to come and enjoy a meal and fellowship. Bring a friend!

Fish, BBQ, New Picnic Tables under a grove of trees, Games, Music, Fellowship and a New 100-yard ZIP LINE! Sound like fun? You’re invited… after worship on Sunday, June 5. Bring a change of clothes and stay for summer fun and fellowship. Invite your friends. Bring easy ups, lawn chairs, Frisbees, anything you would bring to a picnic, and set up in “The Grove.”

We still need fish fry cookers June 5. Anyone who has a fryer and is willing to cook, please let us know. The church has purchased plenty of fry oil that will be provided and the fish will come from our generous and able-bodied fisherpeople and Sam’s if necessary. Anyone who has fryer, please contact church office at 918-663-3000.

Zip Line Training
You might have noticed we have a zip line in our backyard. We need some adventurous people to learn how to safely run the zip. If you think climbing poles and helping people grow through new experiences sounds fun we want you to be trained. Training is Tuesday and Wednesday May 31 and June 1, 4pm to 8pm at the church. First Annual Kids’ Day Camp
Don’t forget to sign up your Garnett Kids for our first Day Camp 4 Kids,
June 6-10! The camp is for kids in 1st-5th grade, and cost is $65 with a $15 discount if paid by May 22. There is also a $5 family discount per child for more than one child. Registration forms are available in Café Mosaic & in the Church office.

Zip Line
Have you noticed? Did you see? The Zip Line is here! The football-field-length, dual Zip Line is being built with in-kind donations of poles from Public Service Company of Oklahoma and the company will join Challenge Quest in setting the poles and setting the cables.

“We want to thank PSO for the huge way they’ve invested in East Tulsa kids with this zip line construction. And Challenge Quest is simply the best ropes and zip line builder in the region. They manage eight courses in the area and service 30 others.” Greg Taylor

Garnett Workday

Garnett Workday
In preparation for the Kids’ Day Camp, we are planning a workday on Saturday, June 4th, which will be focused on preparing the grounds for camp. Some of the effort will be to construct some new picnic tables and place them out back under the grove of trees, sprucing up the softball diamond so we can resurrect that area for games and fun, as well as general cleaning and preparing of the grounds. More detail on times coming soon, but plan to join us for this important time.

2nd Annual Fish Fry
Sunday, June 5th, directly after worship we are excited to host our second annual Garnett Fish Fry. Like last year, we will have a huge lunch with fish, BBQ, music and fun. Bring a change of clothes if you prefer, but plan to stay around on this day for fellowship and good food! Thanks to all of our in-house fishermen (fisher people?) that are serving diligently by spending many grueling hours casting their nets for your benefit. We all do what’s necessary for the betterment of the body, right?

There are many ways you can help; from preparing a meal with your small group, serving a meal on-site, check-in assistance, mentoring, and managing activities, to praying before and during the week for a successful and meaningful time for all involved. The week is Monday – Friday, June 6-10th .

Baby Dedication
Baby Dedication will be held Sunday, May 8, on Mother’s Day. Please send a baby picture with the name and birthdate no later than May 1 to Lundy Morrison at lcmorrison@gmail.com or call Lundy at 918-693-3467.

A small reception is planned at 9am in the Nursery in the Children’s Wing for parents of babies being dedicated and parents of all children under 3.
