We’ve had some problems with our server and have not been able to get audio online and up to date, but we are working on this issue and apologize for the long delay in posting audio. Our goal is to return audio up to date in August as we work through some web technical problems we’ve been having.

Times They Are a Changing!
Coming in July
July 10 is an important day for Garnett. We plan to begin Children’s Worship again. Children will be let out of worship before the sermon. Teams are forming to lead Children’s Worship again.
We’re also planning a class for parents with children of all ages. The class will develop themes out of the current Fearless Families sermon series and build a community connection between those with children from infant to college age.
Beginning July 10, we are also planning to have our worship at 10 am as the first event of our day and moving our Bible classes after worship from 11:15 to noon. The proposal is to switch classes to after worship from July 10 till the Sunday before Labor Day, then take Labor Day off and in the meantime decide if this is a good switch and whether or not to keep the classes after worship or switch them back.
Currently we do not have a high attendance at our 9 am children’s classes. So one rationale for adding a community for parents with children and changing the class time is to increase the number of parents and children who come to our classes. This will also give us a one-and-a-half hour worship and teaching block for the children, rather than them going to class, worship, then back to same place for children’s worship.
We have a month to refine this and lay out more of the plan we can all follow together, and we’ll put something in the bulletin each week to update you on plans. For comments and questions, please email me at gtaylor@garnettchurch.org.
Day Camp 4 Kids Pictures
Day Camp 4 Kids in is in day two. Stop by sometime and see what’s going on! If you can’t make it here are a few pictures from today.

Don’t forget that we are inviting parents to stay after camp on wednesday night for ice cream. Be sure and come to The Grove on the south side of the parking lot for ice cream and to hang out. See you there!
Day Camp Scholarships
We’re excited about the Day Camp 4 Kids & registrations are rolling in! Thanks to everyone who has been talking about this Day Camp to your friends & neighbors. The camp is for all church and community kids. The cost is $50 for the whole week, but please know that we DO NOT want the cost to exclude anyone from being able to come. We are happy to scholarship any child whose family cannot afford camp, and we’ve offered this to every family that has signed up and it is still open to anyone.
We have had generous donations from our church and community that make it possible for campers to be campers, even if their families cannot afford the fee. So keep putting out the word and tell people that cost should not deter them from signing up their child, grandchild, family member or neighbor for camp!
In the spirit of offering a hand up, not just a hand out, we want to be clear that we are more than willing to help assist any families that need it. The scholarship request simply asks if there is any amount of the $50 that the family is able to cover, and asks for the camper & parent to briefly let us know why they’d like to attend.
Thanks for working with us to get as many families as possible to participate something we know will have lasting impact on our community.
Feel free to direct any questions about volunteer opportunities or scholarship help to Beth West.
Volunteer Opportunity
Have you signed up to volunteer at the Day Camp 4 Kids? We are expecting 100% participation from the Garnett family in support of this week-long effort to connect with our community children and their families. There are many ways you can help; from preparing a meal with your small group, serving a meal on-site, check-in assistance, mentoring, and managing activities, to praying before and during the week for a successful and meaningful time for all involved. The week is Monday – Friday, June 6-10th .
Sign-up sheets will be in the Café after worship today, so please stop by and add your name to the list in some capacity! Thanks in advance for your support and involvement.
Wills & Trusts Workshop
Garnett Church of Christ is hosting a free workshop called “Wills and Revocable Living Trusts” Friday, April 29, from 6-7:30 pm in Cafe Mosaic and Phillips Hall.
Stephen Miles of the Church Development Fund (CDF) will lead the workshop introducing Fanancial Planning Ministry to show us how to set up a will or trust. The mission of CDF is to serve Christian Churches and Churches of Christ. One way CDF supports these churches is to hold workshops like this, and the host church receives a minimum 1% part of each will or trust that FPM prepares if that is your choice. The mission and endowment for ministries at Garnett Church of Christ would benefit from you getting your estate plan through FPM.
Stephen will lead the workshop and will also set up times to return and meet with you to do estate planning individually if you decide to do so. There are no fees or costs Stephen will be charging or heavy sales pitches. This is a FREE workshop and the individual counseling is free also.
We will provide coffee and snacks and child care if needed on the night of the workshop. There is a sign-up sheet at Cafe Mosaic, or you can put your name on the tear-out card of the bulletin and say you plan to attend and place it in the offering tray. There are also copies of the letter distributed last Sunday at Cafe Mosaic if you didn’t get one or would like to look at it again.
If you have any questions about the workshop, please contact the church office.
