Important info about dates & sign ups for our summer schedule!
Middle School/High School – CIY/Know Sweat in Denver, CO. – July 3rd – 9th – Cost: $500
Jr./Sr.’s High School – Dry Bones Denver – June 12th – 19th – Cost: $550
We need to know ASAP which trip your student is planning to participate in. The Know Sweat trip hasn’t yet met the minimum number of students; however our commitment should provide the necessary number to secure this opportunity for us. The same is true for Dry Bones, so please email lancenewsom@gmail.com with any questions and to tell us which trip your student is signing up for. A $50 deposit will secure your spot on either trip and this is also due ASAP.

Teenage Moods: What’s Normal and What’s Not
Tuesday, March 1, 6:30-8:00 pm, OU-Schusterman Learning Center, 41st & Yale, Jana Bingman, M.D.
The Student Ministry recommends this free session by Dr. Bingman, who holds the Oxley Foundation Chair in Child Psychiatry. The teen years are legendary for causing family stress, communication problems and worry for parents. Child and adolescent psychiatrist Dr. Jana Bingman will offer help on interpreting the many moods of teenagers and recognizing when their behavior indicates something more than the usual ups and downs of these years. Student Ministry Update

Lance Newsom is our Community Minister who will be the new director of the student ministry to coordinate volunteers and students as they walk together with Christ.
Because Lance has been a long-time part of the student ministry, we believe the ministry will continue strongly and also be infused with a vision that is consistent with this discipling vision of our entire church.
Lance is still our Community Minister but this “Director” role is focused on helping bring core team adults and students together in programs, activities, learning experiences. He will still have many other roles in the church as Community Minister, so we’re just making this distinction between a “Student Minister” and “Director” so the focus will be on helping set vision and work with lots of team members and students to make everything work well in student ministry.
Lance will be calling together the core team of 8-10 individuals or families to share responsibilities and roles, so be listening for that soon. Email Lance if you have questions.
