Sunday, November 8, Bulletin FriendSpeak shares English, Friendship, and most importantly, Jesus Do you want to share Christ with our neighbors? Do you need structured ways to minister at places like our Neighborhood Kitchens Wednesday night meals? Can you speak English with someone wanting to learn good conversation skills in English? FriendSpeak is a great ministry opportunity for you!   We plan a training with Ben Woodward from the FriendSpeak offices, which is based out of Bedford, Texas. FriendSpeak is designed to bring new friends together, and through conversations of the Gospel, do two things for our neighbors whose native language is something other than English: improve English conversation skills, introduce the vocabulary of life–the words and life found in Jesus Christ.   EVERYONE is welcome to attend the training Sunday morning, November 15, 9 am, in Phillips Hall FREE. Even if you haven’t signed up at that point, come and find out if you’d like to get involved, then stay for lunch and afternoon seminar. In fact, EVERYONE is welcome to attend the whole seminar FREE if you cannot afford the suggested fee. Training will resume after worship with lunch provided and two more hours of training. This training is important for the launch of the ministry and everyone who wants to participate is expected to attend. The suggested cost is $25. If you can’t afford this, we have scholarships available.

Childcare will be available for 9 am then for the afternoon as well. Kids eat free and childcare is free with your registration.    The training cost to the church and materials that we will be using is $2,000. We are looking for donations to help cover these costs and to help scholarship people attending the training. We’re looking for one $1,000 gift, one $500, three $100 gifts, and four $50 gifts. Of course, we welcome any gift of any amount. We will need ongoing funds to buy materials for the ministry, but this launch is very important.

Garnett Kids’ Christmas Chorus It’s time for the Garnett Kids’ Christmas Chorus rehearsals to begin. The Kids’ chorus includes 1st through 6th grades and will meet each Sunday during worship time, 10 am to the end of service, in the Children’s Worship room. Daughters of Anna Luncheon The Daughters of Anna October luncheon will be held Sunday, November 15, in the Great Room immediately following services. All women who attend church alone are invited to attend.

Ladies’ Ornament Exchange The Ladies’ Ornament Exchange will be December 13 following service. Sign up will begin November 15. Lunch will be provided. Bring your favorite Christmas dessert. $10 For more information, contact Robin Lee at 455-4475 or Kim Baker 451-2262.

Apostle Build The Habitat for Humanity “Apostle Build” is located at 3719 West 55th Street South. Garnett has volunteered to provide 15 volunteers for Saturday, December 5. Reminder: IDENTITY We are commissioning your creativity (all formats encouraged) to help define who we are as a body. During this season of rebuilding, let’s define who we are and what our purpose is as a body. All submissions are welcome and we are extending the November 1 date for those that would like to participate. Student Ministry $5 Autumn/Winter Project Garnett Student Ministry is sponsoring a project for 1-2-3 International (Victor Linscomb’s ministry) that will provide children of Nicaragua with a backpack, notebook, pencil and a bilingual Gospel of John. Hello everyone. I arrived safely last night. I’m at Mom’s and just had breakfast. We did not have electricity for several hours but its back on now. I’m using an internet café a few houses down from Mom. Thank you so much for your prayers. The 31 hours travel seemed shorter and the service and food were good. It was snowing in Denver, so please pray that the weather will be good when I come back November 20th. God is doing mighty things here in the Philippines. God loves this place more than the people realize. It is very humbling how He chose me of all people to do this for His People. I’ll get some more sleep and start sometime this evening connecting with people. May God’s Peace and Joy be with You, Annie Mileur

Requesting prayers for “our” brother’s family in Texas. Dennis Ellenbarger’s family is having different medical problems–his wife Dixie and daughter Kimberly. Also prayers for my precious sister, Cyndy Lewis, for her different medical problems she is having. Prayers that her doctors can give her comfort and healing for her body. Also a co-worker of mine; asking for prayers for her brother-in-law, Fred Clemens, having health problems (lungs). Thanks you for your prayer for my family. They are a blessing in my life.
