July 29th Announcements

Week number three of our Wednesday night class, “Developing A Healthier Church,” is scheduled for this week in Garnett’s Center for Christian Living. It is not too late for you to participate in this important midweek study. Discipleship and balance will be among the important themes that we will continue to address in this class. Plan to join our fun time of sharing and learning at 6:30 pm in room # 201. Child care is always available during class time.

A new daytime discussion study will begin this Tuesday afternoon, July 31, in the center for Christian Living!!  Based on First, Second and Third John, the title of the class will be “Focusing on Fundamentals.”  The class will begin at 1:30 pm and continue through 3 pm in Room #201.  A study guide will be available.

We will be having a Yard Sale on August 11 to help raise money for our trip to Jinja. Please bring unmarked items to Cafe Mosaic and leave them with Beth West at the “Jinja Trip” table. Items can also be left in the church office, just be sure to mark them “Yard Sale.” **If you have large items, please contact Beth first to arrange drop off.**

If you would like to help the day of the sale, we are looking for 5 people to help set up tables, work the payment table, and tear down. If you have time on August 11 and want to help in this way, please let Beth know!

The Art show will be September 9. Art can be dropped off any time at the “Art 4 Wells” table in Cafe Mosaic, or bring it to the church office with a price and mark it “Art Show.” Items will be displayed for the month of August and can be purchased at the closing event on September 9. All proceeds will be combined with the Wheels 4 Wells donations and used for welding equipment to help repair broken water wells in Uganda.

Go with Garnett staff to this annual Christian Business and Ministry Leadership Summit.  Greg Taylor says, “GLS is simply the best leadership conference I’ve ever been to.  I don’t go to many conferences, but I always make sure I go to this.”  The cost is $100 per person and we are looking for people who can go and help pay their way and sponsor others from our church to go.

The Garnett Food Pantry is in need of bags, both plastic and paper. Bags can be left at the Coffee Bar any time.

Park Plaza Church of Christ has invited us to an Area-Wide Singing at 6 pm this evening, Sunday, July 29.  After the singing there will be a fellowship meal with a cost of $4 per person with a cap of $12 per family.

Life Line Screening will be at Green Country Event Center on Wednesday, August 8, 2012.  The event is sponsored by Oklahoma Heart Institute.  There are flyers in the mall area if interested.  If you wish to register for the screening online go to www.lifelinescreening.com/community-partners
