The Leggs and McIlroys will be headed to Jinja on October 20th. We asked Henry, the new country director for Kibo International what we could take with us to bless the staff and community of Jinja. He asked around and found out that their library located in The Source Cafe could use some books for children. Specifically, they would like Narnia, The Magic Tree House, The Famous 5 books, and any other books for kids.
If you would like to donate we will have a box in the foyer at the Fall Festival Saturday, as well as on Sunday!

All Church Fall Retreat: It’s coming up! S’mores, horseback rides, campfires, and fellowship with our Garnett family! We will be headed to New Life Ranch again this year. We will be there Friday, November 6-Sunday, November 8th. Please eat dinner before you arrive on Friday night. We will stay through lunch on Sunday before we leave to come back to Tulsa.

You are welcome to join us for the whole thing, or just part. If you are planning to just attend part of the weekend, let Beth West know & she can get an adjusted price for you based on how long you will be there (& how many meals you will be eating with us). Update on Hmong Shooting Lawsuit
Two years ago there was a shooting at Garnett Church of Christ building, in Phillips Hall during a Hmong family party. Six people were reported injured. Both then and now, we have prayed with and for the people injured and their families. Recently, we are being sued by a group of the injured. Our property/liability insurance provider has retained legal counsel, who will vigorously defend the lawsuit. As then so also now we are saddened about these events and pray for the victims of the shooters and all involved. We would like to request the congregation to pray for resolution and that this case will not overshadow the lives of anyone involved.
– Staff and Elders, Garnett Church of Christ

Volunteers: There will be a lunch for all the Childrens Ministry volunteers immediately following the service on Sunday 10/18 in the Great Room. New and Potential volunteers are welcome! We will be addressing important topics regarding our ministry.

Parents of Pre-K children: We appreciate you helping us to learn how to give to God. It will continue to be a process.

Just a Reminder that the children are dismissed from their classes at 11:45am.

We are pleased to announce that Nate Donley has accepted our offer to become the new Youth Minister here at Garnett!

I am humbled and very thankful that God has blessed me with this opportunity to work with the Garnett staff and members to lead others into a Christ centered life! I accept the offer proposed to become the new youth minister at Garnett Church of Christ. I am very excited to get out there and get working with y’all and the students! I would appreciate prayer over the next couple weeks. Telling my current students is going to be very difficult. Again, thank you for this opportunity and all praise to God.    -Nate Donley
