God Introduces Himself (Exodus 34:6-7)

Greg TaylorGreg Taylor, July 29, 2012
Part of the A Year of Living Christ.

This sermon begins a three-part look at Exodus 34, one of the fullest self-introductions in the Bible of God Himself. An amazing text, Greg first drills down into the layer of words. Next week he'll look at the context of those words in the life of Israel, the sin of the golden calf in Exodus 32. Then finally, in the third sermon, Greg will look at the allusions to Exodus 34 found in the Bible as we discover one more important part of God's heart.

Exodus 34:6-7

The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children's children, to the third and the fourth generation.” (ESV)
